Road Dogs 05:23
And the dogs, man…. The look on their faces I can’t get em out of my head And that lying cheating son of a bitch That put me here That put us that put us here We rode on man… we had to go we had to get out of that place There was no telling, what we’d owe but it would definitely never replace The orange sun on the horizon Amidst the blue vivid sky The saguaro silhouettes, towering reminders that we’re just passing by Passing by trains that took us there to a place where the dogs are safe where the dogs are safe from the man The burning mid day sun wouldn’t slow down our run From the blistering penance we were forced to serve in service of remorse We rode on man, we rode all day we rode all night in that place we had big dreams but we owed and we’d pay but it all never replace The grapefruit moon on the horizon Amidst the milky way covered sky The saguaros a million miles away - a billion miles away The light, in the distance the only light in space a pinhole, reminder of that day we took instruction from the man And the dogs man, seeing them there fighting for their lives and the dirty sons of bitches who put em there, who made them fight who made them slaves I pray that the tires on this caddy survive The long road rolling through remorse The long road to the west or Mexico our paradise

Could be sitting on a beach somewhere Corona in my hand Amazing food and pretty brown girls Buenos días! Donde esta la tequilas Fuck all you got going on right now I can’t go to mexico if i’m dead asshole And I owe… and I owe They can’t hurt you if they can’t find you Envisage the heat, tacos on the beach playing guitar under a tree Psychedelisized Mejico Gentlemen, You’re lone wolves among dead dogs

about

Dynaflo - The Road Dogs Trilogy, began its journey as an idea near the end of production of the Gringo album. I had the idea of writing an audio trilogy that took its roots from the Italian Spaghetti Western genre and Ennio Morricone. I knew I wanted to tell a story in three parts much like Sergio Leone presented The Man With No Name trilogy. While toying with the idea I stumbled across a novel, written by Manny Torres, titled Dead Dogs. I was enthralled with the book’s storyline and characters. I thought it would be a perfect inspiration for the album. I contacted Manny, sent him the songs while in production and asked for permission to use words from the novel for the Epilogue track. He graciously accepted the collaboration and and also shared with me some of his insights on life, people he’s known who influenced the book etc. One fun thing to note is that I was able to take the “Junkyard Band” approach from the “Gringo” album and improve upon it. Adding things like an authentic Ocarina and Juice Harp to the songs give them a certain authenticity that existed in Morricone’s soundtracks. Pat Brinkley and Eric M. Key’s rhythm section came through with flying colors giving the songs a modern feel, pulling the songs out of the western genre and into the rock/alternative genre.

about

Dynaflo Grand Rapids, Michigan

We've been compared to stuff like Silver Jews, Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and even Marty Robbins. All of this is fine with me. Hell, most of what we've been compared to I would call a hell-uv-a compliment.
